Donk

Donk was inspired a new chapter in my life where love, happiness and positivity are at the centre.

Recording began in 2014 with the track Stop.  What evolved was a collection of materials that had a very Prince inspired flavour.  I was a big fan of Prince and devastated when he left this world.

​

I drew on inspiration from the 1980's and unashamedly drew ideas from Morris Day And The Time.

​

Through its prolonged gestation (5 years!!!), a couple of characters formed.  Joe and Curious George.  In the opening track Joe is dreaming of being a superstar on stage, complete with smoke, lasers, a hydraulic stage and wicked band.  That was me as a kid.  Actually, that's still me now.

I love all the songs but a personal favourite is Sway however Monkey and Swag seem to have great appeal.  

​

Small fact, I wanted to emulate Prince's album Come with the single word titles, and I think it works.
