Friends of Liberty

Friends of Liberty was born out of collaborations with Nick Tunbridge and David Puopolo.

 

Nick is a budding harp player and we collaborated on Rinse and Repeat.  His playing makes my harp skills look sad however he is only just getting started and I hope we can do a lot more together.

David, on the other hand, is a pro drummer and we talked about collaborating however iso accelerated the process.

 

Unfortunately the tracks I worked on with David and Nick are only on the Spotify version of this release.  Apple rejected the work as belonging to "Darren Baird" and I haven't managed to get around this.

 

Mothers was inspired by the tragic events in Beirut this year.  I watched in horror as lives were torn apart and was deeply moved by a mother who, at the side of her childs hospital bed wept and said, "There are no guns, no politics and no religion."   A mother feels it all.

 

Writing and recording for Friend of Liberty new material began in August 2020 and was released 2nd October 2020.
