The Indelible Mark
2012
The Indelible Mark was fuelled by difficult personal circumstances.

With a harder rock tone and deeply personal lyrics, the performances throughout are hard to recreate in a live setting.

Mike and Monday Nights is the best song I have produced. It is a tribute to the late Mike Grime who led a large division at ANZ. We had a relationship in music and Mike joined a band I formed and we performed a few times.

Mike brought music back into my life at the same time my marriage was falling apart.
The main guitar part on the track is played on his 1965 Gibson Flying V. I am a steward of this guitar and in honour of his legacy, it get's played on every recording.

Virginia is a tribute to my great friend Virginia Matthews who supported me through this period and we have made lots of wonderful music together.

The track Able is a tribute to Hamish MacKenzie and the super humans with different abilities. I've dedicated part of my life though work to ensure people with a disability live with dignity.

I love listening to this album, it feels surreal. The pain that inspired much of the music is gone and I'm pleased this chapter has passed and everyone involved is good with one another. Life is too short to hang onto pain.

Rest in peace Mike, thank you.

The album art was produced by the talents of Jonathan Lochhead who politely pointed out my first album, Free, had clipart for a cover.
